After all, you haven't felt this healthy or looked this happy in ages. But what triggers this? More importantly, why do we always find it difficult to get rid of those last remaining pounds and reach our weight loss desires?

It can be a number of factors really, but the most common 6 are the following:

1. You made a mistake and gave up

It is only natural to slip up with your dietary plan, but you shouldn't allow this mistake to sway you to behave unhealthily for the rest of the day. It is still possible to overcome this and get your diet plan under control.

One slip up won't hurt your diet, but the more often you slip up, the more likely you will put on weight. If this fits your behaviour, sit down and remind yourself of all the positive alterations you have achieved so far. With this reminder you'll find it easier to get back on track.

2. Your meal sizes have gradually increased

Occassionally this is so steady that you don't even realise that you are eating an extra glass of fresh orange juice or your 4 ounce chicken is now 6. To guarantee you are not eating too many calories, try watching your calorie consumption and analysing your dish quantities. You might discover this is all you needed to reignite your motivation.

3. You are allowing too many extra' puddings get past your radar

An additional dessert here or consuming a few spoonfuls off your childrens meals there, all equal extra calories that you don't require.

Please Note: the more weight you lose, the fewer calories your system will need to function. This means as you continue to lose weight, you will have less of a calorie leeway between the extra nutrients you consumer. If you are struggling to keep track of your nutrients, try keeping a meal diary and write down everything you consume and their calorie size. You'll soon find out where you are going wrong.

4. You ignore your diet at the weekend

Although you should never deny yourself your favourite meals during your diet, neither should you treat the weekend as your days off. At this level in your weight loss plan, it is important to remain regular and ensure that you are not indulging in more wine or making larger meals. Despite the extra weight you put on during the weekend are often only water weight, these pounds can mount up.

To prevent this, establish a weekend meal programme to help you remain in control and utilise a nutrient journal to analyse your meals.
