by Adriana Noton

Studies today have shown that having at least one egg with your breakfast today can work wonders. It is more filling than a bagel of the same number of calories, satisfy you, and eliminates your need for a mid morning snack. The moderate fats and high protein in an egg can benefit everyone, even those watching their cholesterol. Here are a few healthy recipes for breakfasts to enjoy.

A quick breakfast taco is easy and fast to make. All you need is a corn tortilla, a tablespoon of salsa, some reduced-fat cheddar cheese, and an egg. While you scramble your egg, place the cheese and salsa on the tortilla and heat in the microwave for about thirty seconds. When the egg is done, just place in the tortilla and eat as you would your favorite taco for a filling and satisfying healthy breakfast.

Spinach and tomato omelet - This is a colorful dish full of flavor and protein. This recipes needs some halved cherry tomatoes, baby spinach, a sliced scallion, and an egg. Soften your tomatoes and scallion in a nonstick skillet and then add your spinach on top. Cover and let the spinach wilt for thirty seconds. Then add your eggs, and stirring constantly, cook until done. When ready, sprinkle your cheese on top, cover and let it melt. Then just fold the omelet over and serve.

Burrito lovers would enjoy a quick scrambled egg burrito in the morning. You will need a whole-wheat flour tortilla, green chilies, low-fat cheddar cheese, reduced-fat sour cream, an egg, and salsa with black beans or whatever type you prefer. Mix the egg and chilies together and then scramble. When ready, place inside a tortilla, add cheese, roll, and dip into your sour cream and salsa. Alternatively, you can add the salsa and sour cream inside the burrito and eat that way.

Even if you really need to watch your cholesterol, an egg sandwich is still possible. Using egg whites, turkey bacon, some tomatoes, and nonfat cheddar cheese, you can have a delicious sandwich in no time. Just place the cooked egg whites on whole-grain bread and top with cheese, tomatoes, and your turkey bacon for a satisfying start to your day.

If you prefer muffins to bread, you can use a whole-grain English muffin instead. In this version, you can replace the turkey bacon with some spinach. Toast the muffin and place your spinach on first, then add a slice of cheese and place in microwave a few seconds until the cheese is melted. Then add your egg and a slice of tomato and enjoy your breakfast.

Frittata Italiana - This colorful dish is packed full of flavor and a perfect healthy substitute for regular a frittata. This calls for two egg whites, sun-dried tomatoes, soft cream cheese, and fresh basil. Combine the cream cheese and egg whites together and then pour into a hot skillet. As it begins to set, add your basil and tomatoes, and then cover. After two minutes, it should be done and can be placed on a plate and cut into wedges. Serve your frittata with some whole-grain toast.

Easy recipes can be healthy recipes. Eggs are a great source of protein and just one a day added to your breakfast is a perfect healthy choice. These six breakfasts are delicious examples of how you can enjoy eggs in your meal in a healthy way. You can also create your own healthy recipes by choosing some favorite vegetables and using them with egg whites or a single egg anytime you like.
