No Weight Loss With Your Diet - The Dieting Mind Set

Are you having no weight loss success with your diet at the moment? Very often if you are having no weight loss with your present diet, it is because you have unconsciously set yourself up for failure even before you started your diet. You probably literally dread going on a diet and before you start the process you are planning for your mishaps along the way. We so often fear failure that we prepare ourselves for it in advance.

1. Starting out with the wrong mindset:

I have no idea why we do this to ourselves but it is something I see in dieters everywhere. Most of us start a diet by going on a binge of our most loved food as we have the idea that everything will have to be eliminated from our diets. We think it is impossible to lose weight without giving it all up completely!

2. Moderation is the key:

This way of thinking is where we all make the mistake, if you are honest with yourself, nothing could be further from the truth. Moderation is the key to successful weight loss and successful weight maintenance. It is not an all or nothing scenario, it is moderation now and always. You will have no long term weight loss with this mindset; you are setting yourself up for failure!

3. Change the way you think about food:

The key to successful weight loss is to change the way you think about food and the enjoyment you get from food in order for any diet you embrace to be successful. We all have to realize that food is not the enemy. This is something not many people really understand. Even the 'tasty' foods aren't the enemy. The enemy is our personal inability to properly control the portions we eat. It is also important to realize what the right proportions of the different kinds of foods we eat are. The problem is that the vast majority of us eat the wrong foods far more often than we eat the right foods. This is where the problems lie.

4. Make sure you get all the necessary nutrients:

To function properly our bodies need certain nutrients. If we do not eat the five servings of vegetables and three servings of fruit each day, that we should, our bodies are reprieved of essential nutrients. Our bodies know that something is missing and we feel hungry or deprived. If we follow a balanced diet of fruits and veggies each day we will find that we are far less hungry and we will also have less of a craving for all the wrong kinds of food. This in turn means that we are far less likely to go on a binge and we will be able to enjoy these "illegal" foods in moderations.

5. Reintroduce yourself to proper portions:

Portion control is another big problem these days. We live in a society of "up sizing". We consume super sized fries and empty calories by the gallon with our favorite cola offered with almost every fast food meal we buy. It is essential that we all learn to decline these "up size" offers. Avoid situations where you may feel tempted to except these "up sized" orders.

6. Think of your diet as a change to a healthy lifestyle:

For real weight loss success you have to embrace your diet as a new healthy lifestyle. You will have no weight loss with your diet if you see it as depriving yourself, you have to see it as the road to a new healthier you. Do not think of your weigh loss plan as something negative but rather as a positive step in your life towards making changes for the better.

7. Ways to handle the negative feelings:

*Do not direct negative thoughts to your diet
*When you feel deprived remind yourself that you are relieving your bones of carrying around all that excess weight.
*Remind yourself that you are getting rid of all those bulky clothes in your wardrobe. All those bulky clothes that are designed to hide the bulges.
*Remind yourself that you are getting rid of years of bulges and bringing back the body of your youth.

8. Still enjoy life:

*Do not get so caught up in dieting that you forget to enjoy some of the good things life has to offer.
*Watching your weight and counting your calories does not mean that you can never go over your allotment.

9. The goal is to find balance:

*Learn to portion your food correctly
*Indulge in moderation
*Incorporate enjoyable calorie burning activities into your daily routine

If you have had no weight loss with your present efforts it is possible that you have set yourself up for failure. Effective weight loss is a long term process and it requires a healthy lifestyle. You will have no weight loss with any diet if you do not embrace it as a new, healthy and permanent lifestyle.

Learn how to incorporate small treats into your routine in moderation and burn those extra calories with healthy activities, then you will find yourself a much happier and more successful 'dieter' than you have ever managed to be in the past. No weight loss is possible without these positive changes. Keep this in mind and you will never have to wonder why you have no weight loss with your many efforts.

Why Am I Fat?

Why Am I Fat?

Why am I fat? That is a question so many of us ask ourselves over and over again. It is the question that plagues most of us all the time! Maybe we should try and answer that question before we look at ways to get rid of all that fat. Let's all take the challenge and lose weight, get rid of that fat.

Why am I fat? I suppose the easiest answer is fast food, but the reasons for the problem extend out to so much more. While it is true that the prevalence of fast food restaurants certainly doesn’t help, the problem is bigger than that.

In the movie "Super Size Me" Morgan Spurlock showed us with painful reality that fast food menus offer us a heaping helping of fat, cholesterol, and calories. If you are asking the question "Why Am I Fat?" this movie is highly recommend watching. If you are addicted to fast food, this movie is for you. You may very well change your mind about fast food after you seeing it!

Good news though, is that many of these restaurants are now offering health-conscious choices including salads, potatoes instead of French fries, yogurt, and grilled meats instead of fried meats. So with these items now included on their menu, why aren’t we losing weight? The answer lies within our choices. Those choices extend to our home life, and the choices we make there, as well.

Many people lead insane busy lives and they more often than not opt for pre-packaged foods that contain high amounts of salt, fat, and other unhealthy components that contribute toward weight gain. Our modern lifestyle also tends to be a mostly sedentary lifestyle. We mostly choose to watch our favorite television program after dinner rather than going out for a walk like people used to do decades ago.

Unfortunately we also teach our children this unhealthy lifestyle. When we were young, we couldn’t wait to get through dinner so we can go and play outside before the sun went down. We rode our bikes everywhere and only watched television when “The Brady Bunch” or “The Partridge Family” was on. No couch potatoes there!

These days we mostly find kids on the computer or in front of the TV with a video game controller in their hands. Kids know more about the story line on Desperate Housewives than many of their housewife mothers. They can tell you about all of the new products being offered through commercials they see in between their programs. The awful fact is that the average child watches more than 15 hours of television each and every week.

Caution, television as such is not bad! In fact, some programs are very good and helpful in making kids smarter. What we’re saying is that kids need to get outside more instead of sitting in front of the TV eating crisps and drinking sugar rich soda.

Statistics shows us that this is true. Fifteen percent of all children and teens are overweight - a number that has tripled since a previous study done in 1980! A whole generation that is going to be plagued by the question "Why Am I Fat?"

"Why am I fat?" Some people blame their excessive weight gain on slow metabolisms. In some cases, this might actually be true. However, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has confirmed what no one really wants to face: we’re overweight because we simply eat too much of the wrong foods.

The amazing thing is, losing weight is actually quite simple – eat less, exercise more. But we’re resistant to that message, we want "magic." Mainly, it’s because we’re looking for a quick fix – an easy, painless way to drop pounds without sacrifice. After all, losing weight is just not supposed to be easy, now can it?

No, unfortunately it isn’t. You have to consider portion control, food choice, exercise, how much exercise, what kind of exercise, etc. But worrying about all of the specifics will do you little good. You need to get the big picture in mind first before worrying about the specifics.

If you are asking the question, "why am I fat?" What you need to do is lose those extra pounds. And there are many, many ways to go about that. But do not wait around for the next miracle diet; try some of the tried and true methods we’ll show you. It’s far less complex than you may think!

Never ask the question "Why Am I Fat?" again. A good program such as Fat Loss 4 Idiots™ makes it easy. All the work is done by the diet generator and all you need to do is follow the menu!
