Weight Loss Success Using The Body's Own Fat Measure

Dieters are confronted with the recurring trouble of committing too much effort into weight loss only to regain weight so fast. According to the report, the hypothalamus in the brain dictates the body's weight, and within it is a mechanism that actually regulates fat storage. This mechanism is referred to as the set point. According to the set point theory, a person who preserves a healthy set point is able to pull off weight more, by being engaged in healthy actions that naturally burn fat, and by taking a positive self-image that prevents anxiety and depression. A person experiencing anxiety or depression tends to slow his activity, which in return decelerates fat burning and increases weight gain.

The set point theory answers to the difficult situation of crash dieters having more weight after they had starved themselves. It presupposes that if a person's fat level lessens below her set point, then the body will react by increasing appetite. In a sense, the set point is protecting the healthy level of the body's stored fat. This proves why crash dieters find a greater appetite which they somehow do not have control over, after they have starved themselves.

Does set point theory on weight loss work? It has for some. A real-life account was told of a woman who had tried dieting for 25 years, but who in conclusion quit when she was at the point of sustaining from unbearable misery. She then turned to acquiring a happy and normal affair with food, eating a little but adequately, and taking the nutrients the body needs. After doing things this way, she started losing weight. The brain's set point level for necessitating stored fat had depressed, thus she also did not have the uncontrollable appetite to eat.

This weight loss possibility, coupled with aerobic exercises that burn fat and build muscles, help keep off lost weight. These exercises may include biking, swimming, and running.

In extreme cases where surgery may be warranted for weight loss, seeking help from professionals is advised.
