Should Your Core Mindset Is Cardio Or Lifting Weights To Lose Weight?

by Dicky Rejaka

If you need to lose weight, realistically you are likely to eventually have to add in some kind of exercise. Dieting alone simply will not do it alone. Exercise can help you burn extra calories to help you get extra pounds off your body. While some try to accomplish this without exercise it's hard. It may work if you are young but after approximately your 20s, or even in your 20s, you need exercise as well. Fortunately there is a multitude of exercises available both with cardio and weight training.

In terms of exercising, there are numerous things you can do. That can be done cardiovascular routines like running, cycling, aerobics, skiing, playing sports, and others. You may also do weight lifting routines such as free and/or using resistance machines to build muscle and tone your body. Which one of these simple better to focus on?

Cardiovascular exercise will burn calories, no doubt about that. It's not something that might work, it will work, and also it can work extremely well. The more of this that you simply do the more calories that you burn, it's that simple really. If you use-up more calories that day than you take in, you will lose weight. While this does work for many, there's missing. Unfortunately but not surprisingly, cardio only burns weight when you're doing so; not on days off. The missing piece is weight training. Read on to learn why.

Weight training is something you can focus on to maximize weight loss. The advantage that weight training has is you will build some muscle which helps you lose fat. While to some this most likely are not the overall goal when you are attempting to get smaller, provide you with the results that you are searching for. This is because the muscle on your body will be burning calories the entire day. Doing the cardio for losing weight does work, but for most people with weight training there are several more positive long term results.

The reality is that you could pick either one. Doing a modicum of both is even better. Don't fall into the eating trap though. It's hard to exercise and lose weight if you have a bad diet. You can't eat anything you want. If your eating doesn't get under control, it will likely be difficult to lose weight naturally.
