Carbohydrates are turned into sugars from which your body draws its energy. Notice that if you don't put enough energy into your workout the spare carbs will get converted into fat to store the energy. It is important to remember that carbs need to be eaten sparingly whilst you are training. This may be difficult at times but you need to remember that you trying to build muscle and not fat. Without carbs you don't have energy, and without energy you can't workout and if you can't increase your muscle mass, so just remember everything in moderation. How many carbs is too much depends solely on your metabolic rate. If you are concerned with the amount of carbohydrates you are consuming, talking with a professional is a good way of finding out what you should be looking out for.

Body building success doesn't depend on just eating the right foods, you have to consume the right amount of foods for you to be able to reach you goals.
