What Is The Best Remedy A Yeast Infection?

by Adrianne Saizu

Yeast infections are uncomfortable and embarrassing but they are a very common problem for up to 70% of women. While these infections are nothing more than overgrowth of bacteria that is naturally found in the vagina, it can be very uncomfortable and even embarrassing to treat. But what causes these infections? It can be something as simple as staying in a wet bathing suit for too long, wearing clothes that are too tight or even something as simple as taking certain antibiotics.

There are a few home remedies that are worth mentioning if you are looking for an all natural treatment that can be done at home. First is garlic. The garlic can be used in two different ways, it can either be consumed in large amounts or it can be crushed into a paste that is applied directly to the affected area. Be sure to start out with a small amount on one area to make sure that you don't have sensitivity to it. All natural organic yogurts can be used in much the same way. Just be sure that the yogurt that you are using is also sugar free.

Over the counter creams and ointments offer large selections of products that will mainly treat the symptoms of your infection. These can either be topical treatments or some are inserted directly into the vagina. The good news here is that as long as you follow the instructions on the product you should experience relief right away.

If you are unsure if you have an actual yeast infection or if you have never seen a doctor for this type of problem, it is always recommended that you see one before any treatment plan is started on your own. Your doctor has many types of prescription medications available to him or her and they will be able to determine which one is going to be the best for you.

Remember that there is always alternative ways to treat infections that are highly effective and easy to use.
